California during the early years of the AIDS epidemic (San Diego.) I have buried fifty-five men that I was privileged to call close friends. I have also had three friends murdered through the years, because of sexual orientation. I am determined that the atrocities of history, recent and past, are never repeated. Again, I am amazed at your site, and will inform as many as possible of it's valued existence. I also had the privilege of seeing the Homomonument in Amsterdam a couple of years ago, along with touring the Anne Frank Museum. I took photos and made multiple copies to give to every gay organization in western Canada. At the time, no one was aware of this monument to commemorate those who perished under the Third Reich. While we here in Canada are slowly progressing with issues of equality, it seemed to me that Europe was so far ahead of most of the world in this regard. Keep up the great work.

Message:	Tough living in part of the world where gays and lesbians are officially accepted (in the big cities anyway) there are also here still a lot of places and people and families that merely tolerate gays and lesbians (in public) but reject, judge and exclude them as soon as they don't have to worrie about exposure of their homophobia (in example when the gay-people concerned are youths or are isolated or just not assertive enough)... I myself am forced underground in my identity as gay wich is quite difficult sometimes and make me very angry and sad. Your site mde me cry because it shows that tere is something else then hatred and denial of homophobics on one hand and the pure commercial exploitation and merely sex-centered and indifference of the open and established gay-world as to be found in the big cities. He should be ranked amongst the all the great artists in the world... but our homophobic worlds have probably prevented that. his relaxed approach to the nude youth male body is so awesome. he knows anatomy so well... and portraits it with such a relaxed perspective. all of these youth are friends; there is no implied sexual relationship in his paintings; it is only up to the viewer of his works to interpt the paintings meaning. these can be boys who are friends who are so close that their nudity and naked state is "just the way i am"... and just the way you are and just the way we all are, in Gods own image. friends.... best friends.... buddies.... lovers.... AND Komasky was such a revolutionary for his times. certainly his works must have caused some squinted eyes in his times..... On the other hand, who could resist to view how beautiful his paintings are!?!?!?!!!!!!!!! if one has any appreciation for the beauty of a flower or a rainbow or a sunset or the stars in our sky... then one can only admit to how beautiful the human body is!!! such innocence and yet such relaxed sexual expression is so awesome!!! i only wish i could have met such an awesome man with such awesome talent. he really has greatness in my mind. i am so glad to have found him on this site. thank you for letting me view his wonderful works!!!!!!

So she will probably vote YES on the Louisiana Amendment #1 banning Gay and Lesbian marriages. This a poll going out to all Louisiana citizen to vote on in September. I am trying to convince her that the issue of "Civil marriage" is an institution of the State, where as the Sacrament of Marriage" in as intitution of various religious denomination. Thus church and state issues should remain seperate. The message I am trying to convey to all the our founding forefather drafted the Bill of Rights of the United States Constitution with the heart of the language being rooted in civility and ethics seperate from the Christian language of dictates of morality and rule by Theocracy. I hope to convince her with the pages of horrible histories from your website that "Religious fervor/fever/passion" is indeed the root to all of the killing and murders and suicides of Bodies and Souls of her citizens. It is my hope that it is not to late for her to change her mind and also my hope that she will encourage her constituency to vote NO on the Amendment #1. You have my deepest thanks for your remarkable work. I know there are thousand of untold tragedies out there waitng to be added to your memorial wall. However depressing it may seem to do this work, I hope that you will be sustained to continue to channel yours and our grief and anger to constructively memorialize the our martyres of HATE.
