Andrej
I would like to give you feedback on the "Puppets' Theatre" stories.
Once again you have skilfully woven your characters in the narratives without any simple prediction as to outcome at any early stage.
I was delighted in the final revelation that then provided the linking between what at first just seemed some simple studies of manipulation. Simple may be the wrong word to use as in each case you reach a layer of intensity of emotion that resonates with people who have either struggled with their sexuality or at least felt the need to keep it somewhat hidden from general consumption. During the early narratives I often found it was not easy to break off from the story and indeed was forming my own judgements about the characters. In each case one character manipulated another into accepting a newer way of life and making significant change in habits and boundaries. Empathy with the characters is drawn out of the reader and the dependencies created that are held on a silken thread are a delight.
The later story starts off as endearing narrative but then takes the unexpected twist that becomes the revelation and joining up that makes the reader want to revisit parts read previously to see the missed clues.
The final episode seems almost superfluous to start but then develops and becomes just as meaningful. In some ways it clarifies questions beginning to form.
If I had one criticism it is that although the combined stories are becoming played out and there is no obvious new direction to embark, the actual ending seems too abrupt. There was a loss of closure in either a heroic or tragic finish. As if there were pages lost but not any feeling that the reader is challenged to consider what could happen next.
Overall, I am glad I read through this series. Written many years ago they are not too dated yet but with the pace of change in life they could become a period set but no less valid.
Best regards
Colin

Hi Andrej,
The last one I read is "Puppets' Theatre".
Act 1: this young man with talent, Beniamino, and how the gentleman took a interest in him on two different levels. Yet, finding in time falling in love and giving all up around him for lads and promising Beniamino only he would be his love.
Then with act 2 and the teacher Franco and his 34th birthday and a sly yet final hook up with Bruno and finding like in the first wonderful top of the line love making to their lads. So much like the first Franco could not go without him and all the things he had to do with Bruno in order to hang onto him.
Tird, Ugo: married with a child yet in his time feeling something missing and along comes a job with Count Massimo. Ugo became more then a hired person for Massimo, like, a great friend and could it would it? This lead to Ugo and his wife making love but his thoughts on his young lad for a boss and now closer friend. Though making wife happy, seemingly he still had a part of him on the lad. Till it happen and they both found each other and came alive. Which lead to a naughty wife name calling and a divorce and the two becoming one.
Then comes the Father losing his wife to the birth of Marco and weird twisting love relationship Father and son, far from close. Marco becoming aroused and interested in male bonding such that of Valerio and how lead to Valerio kissed again for a long while Marco and so many things Marco learned from his older friend and was loving it all except for Dad.
Which all of this left Marco with up and down male contact in different places. When finally Dad died, Marco is obsessed of getting three people. Dad Commendatore trying to keep Marco straight, is hiring Angelo and starts all the work and Matteo...
To where Dad proclaims dying of cancer. To which the twist and Angelo sees it all unfolding in front of his eyes. Each step Marco was making, as, Angelo was too falling in love with this lad. To where finally it all comes to a head and Marco realizes that Angelo knows who he is, Marco tells all of his life in detail, all that he did to the men he choose as his victims.
The whys that Angelo pretty much knew had to do with Marco's Dad and the way he treated Marco he wanted to do to his victims. Then the entire Marco plan comes out and all the whys, to both falling totally in love and at the end a great new business developed and the last secret... money and used to grow their business even more!!
How each in some ways each was just a puppet...
I enjoyed reading this and had to read some sections two or three times to get the plot. Sorry a little slow but very much enjoyed your writings!
Hugs with loving friendship, Geno

uhm, firstly, Happy new year and thank you for sending me password. it's very kind of you.
The Puppets Theatre , I don't like it , it's not like it's bad, it's good, extremely good but I'm not satisfied , I don't want a happy ending for Marco, he don't deserve it. There's no excuse for treating people that cruelly, playing with their feeling. It has nothing to do with his unhappy childhood. I hate him.
I'm scared - do you know why? I don't want to know how old you are. You must be an old man or a genius, I dislike both ^^ (just kidding) 'cause your're full of experience. I know a little Japanese, enough to read, write - I don't think someone who don't know Japanese well can write The Tide's Man and For Dress, a Tattoo.
You know a lot of things, I've never met someone like you (maybe I'm too young, but I'm 22 this year ^^)
I like your stories, I hope I can read all soon.

Hi there,
I first read the stories of yours from Nifty a few years back, maybe around year 2000, and later, I found your site and downloaded a few of the stories, such as the black cover, the puppets' theatre, tide's man, male house, short escape, the double...
Just this afternoon, I suddenly remembered the story Puppet's theatre, and try to find it in your site. Of course, i started reading it right away, and i am sure in the next few days, the story will travel with me while I am away because it is just wonderful, and worth re-reading it so many times.
Yours
Billy

hi
i've read a few of your stories, the english ones and man, you're a writer worthy of praise.
something just crossed my mind, perhaps you could have been a lot more famous if you had lived alongside oscar wilde, robert ross and alfred douglas, [......hmmmn what literary pieces would you have written....] though i doubt if you'd trade the experiences and treasured times you had and still have now
these are the stories i like most
1. epistolary ----- this one's really cool
2. happy christmas, neil and norman ---- i like the part here where norman provoked neil, norman's leaving neil's apartment and norman's apologising to neil the next night
3. dear eugenio
4. the puppet's theater
i'm 21yrs old. i have no knowledge regarding the italian language, so i can only hope that a lot of people will come to aid you to translate the rest of your stories in english.
hey andrej, keep it up!
happiness to both you and matt!!
H.M.
