1 Hello Andrej,

I've read three of your stories, 'His Foot In Too Many Shoes,' 'The Choice,' and 'Star's Shadow.' I love happy endings. I think you do, too. The only comments that i have is that you take a lot of time building up the plot (which is great) and you spend a lot of time detailing the central part of a story (which is also great). However, I have only one criticism. It seems as though you seem to rush the endings in order to tie everything into a neat little bundle of joy! I thoroughly enjoy reading your stories and cannot put one down until i read every chapter.

I've worked with children all my life and have been confronted with, but never pursued, many situations similiar to Gustavo and Adriano's in 'The Choice,' so I can really relate to that tale. You absolutely described the emotions correctly. However, I have been besieged by both girls and boys and have had to behave circumspectly. At the present time, one of the pre-teen boys from a choir that I directed continues to call me. He has a 'crush' on me. However my family and his are aware of this fact and we all treat him with love and care realizing that he will grow out of it, as he is receiving no encouragement.

I am impressed with the way you bring love into the sexual expression of your characters. Love is so often overlooked. Most people are just looking for someone to fuck. I'm a romantic and enjoy the emphasis you place on the LOVE relationship in your stories.

I'm so happy that I've discovered your writings. I look forward to reading stories that you are writing in this year 2006! Tell me where they are!

Sincerely, Sarina

1 My dear Andrej

I have just finished reading His Foot in Too Many Shoes. I thought it quite beautiful in an elegiac way. Moreover I found it much darker than many of the other stories of yours that I have read.

In some ways the set up - the son discovering and reading the diary reminded me of The Bridges of Madison County, though because the son too was gay there was less of a shock with regard to the contents of the diary.

Still your tale was definitely less utopian than much of your work because it marked the site of desire unsatisfied. The desires of the older male end badly, not simply because he could not make up his mind but because his was a love that was in some senses doomed from the start. Certainly that is how I read his relationship with Livio.

As an exercise I loaded down the first chapter in Italian and although my command of the language is virtually non-existent, I have enough to know that as I suspected you are a true stylist in that language. Your translations simply do not truly reflect the beauty of sentences such as "E un ragazzo molto carino, Livio, con un sorriso luminoso e dolce".

Again thanks for a sad but beautiful narrative.

warm regards

Gary

1 Dear

In the last months I am frequently reading your.
Until yesterday I did not feel at all like writing to you, because I liked your novels, but felt there were too many happy ends, so they looked to me more like a collection of unfulfilled dreams, and I have quite a big collection of my own (only not written down).
But yesterday I came over your "His Foot in too many Shoes" and liked it so much, that I felt like writing to you. Already while reading your other novels and short stories I felt some desire to know you better, but the calm and yet powerful way in which "His Foot in too many Shoes" is written lets me think that nobody can write such a novel without of aboundance of similar real life experiences.
When I finished the reading I had to go to the roof of our building and stay there for half an hour in order to be able to come back with dry eyes.
After reading the few lines you wrote about yourself on your web site, I felt the desire to send you, even an electronic, hug.

I do not know exactly what I expect writing all this to you, but I felt like saying you how much I liked your "His Foot in too many Shoes".

Best regards,

John

(this is a nickname, but the same my boyfriend is using when addressing me)

1 My dear friend,

I read "Chipi" this weekend. It is such a splendid story. Although unlike the "Italian Brothers," it is futuristic rather than historical, it felt just as real, and I was once again amazed by your wonderful writing and imagination. Telepathy, how cool is that! And how I wish if I could one day communicate with my lover like that!

But then, how did love happen for Chipi? It was through strength and intelligence and bravery, and above all, sheer determination that he finally won the heart of his Klare, but it was also perhaps destiny that made him fall in love with Klare... I enjoyed the story immensely, especially the dream-like ending, so different from any other stories, yet love is what makes them equally beautiful.

At one point, I was almost tempted to ask you which one is your favorite story, but I soon came to the realization that it would be like asking a father which one is his favorite child. It is a question without an answer. Even for me, I love all of your stories, even if I feel personally more moved and touched by "His Foot in Too Many Shoes" and "Italian Brothers," I really do love all of them, and it will be very very hard for me to say which one is absolutely my favorite. They are all different, but equally beautiful, in their own ways, even some shorter, less moving ones. There is not a single story that I have read so far which did not inspire or touch or simply amuse me in some way. I simply feel they are different windows of life.

With love,
Matt

1 My Dearest Andrej:
I have just finished reading "I, The President's Son" and was enraptured by is as I have been with all of your stories. Of course I didn't like the sad ending, but, as in life, all does not end on a happy note.
I am now going to read "Chipi" and, someday, I hope to get back to reading "Too Many Shoes" which I started when my printer malfunctioned. I cannot read all of these stories from the computer screen as my eyes don't focus too well either.
Your loving friend,
Ed

1 Hi Andrej,

My name is Taz, I just read your story "His Foot in too many Shoes" tonight 11/30/99 and I have to say it was very touching, especially the epilogue. I really liked what you had to say there. As I am living with AIDS, but hey, I'm still here, I lost my lover in 1995 and that was absolutely devastating. So I kind of understand what your saying.

Hugs, Peace and Love,
Taz

1 Hi Andre,

Thank you for your stories. It's a pleasure to read prose that's not littered with errors and ridiculous situations and over-sized cocks.
Your style is gentle and lovely - a pleasure to read. That's praise indeed from a person who earns his keep writing all manners of things! I'm reminded of a novel called "The Mask of Flesh" by a French writer, name forgot. Read it back in the 60s!

I read the story "Foot in too many shoes" - a delightful exploration of a gay man trying to fall in love. There is mystery, intrigue and delicacy in the telling. You have a gift for story telling. Grammar needs some attention, but that can always be attended to by another.
Also, you ought to space your dialogue in the conventional way. Otherwise, the story is very enjoyable and well-divided into four sections. As I said, it reminds me of "The Mask of Flesh". The diary sections are in the same style.
Have you thought of having this "dressed up" by an editor and published? I'm sure it would be a hit. Like your naming the days Saint This and Saint That - adds a certain style. Also the agony of indecision comes through very effectively. However, I repeat, have it published - it's too good to stay on Nifty.

Now I will consult your web page for more stories.

Hugs hugs and love,

Ron

1 Hey Andrey,

First - I should sue you for my lost work hours! I was almost 4 hour late to work!
You should post a warning in your site:
Don't start to read at late night or you will spend a whole night at the front of the PC!

Your story 'His foot in too many shoes' is so hearth-breaking, that when I 'made a mistake of going to your web site at 3:00 AM' I got addicted, that desperately wanted to read all chapters of the story which 1st part was posted in ASSGM and I came to the site for the remaining parts.
This story - a hearth-breaking log (is this a true story?) weakened my legs - I had to read it to the end. After all trying to go to sleep at 6AM, if I start to work at 9PM is not a very good idea.

So far... only this story I had the opportunity to read.
Unfortunately - I do work a long hours and also taking care of few internet Gay Community sites. It doesn't leave me with a much free time :-/

I can assure you, that I will read them all.
It will be a pleasure for me to supply you with my own reflections and opinion about all stories you wrote.

I hope, that you do have a same great sunny day, like we have here!

Hugs,
Peter.

1 Well... I'm sorry, but I'm not able to find a word, which will fit into the description of your web page. Wonderful? Greatest? Whatever word I will use, none could express my feelings about your Web Site and Your heart-breaking, tearful stories, like "His Foot in too many Shoes"

Let's peace and love stay with you.

Peter.

1 I was skimming through the message board and i found your nine-part Story "His Foot"... I was peculiar about that since you entitled it his foot... I assumed it would be a fetish or something but I am glad to have the opportunity to read your story....

I would like to know if you are an author of a published book because I would like to read more of your stories... :-) I was very moved by that story.... and somehow I can relate myself to Gian-Maria except that I am young, and alone.

Thank you for sharing that story :-) :-) :-)
Steven

1 Dear Andrej

I have finished reading all the stories that you have translated to English and enjoyed them all. Also the last one "His Foot in too many Shoes".

I can see you in all of your stories and I can feel the love that you have for others. I can also see myself as some of the characters in your stories.

The greatest thing in this life is to be loved and wanted and this clearly comes to the surface in your beautiful tales of love.

Although I have no one to physically love me I find the words in your writing fill that empty space.

As ever, Love

Gary

1 My dear Andrej,

This is probably my fifth time reading "His Foot in too many Shoes", yet every time I can read something new. This story moved and touched me deeply, even after I have already known the story line. It touched me, yet unlike your other stories, because it was not from the beauty of a great love, but from the beauty of life, which in a sense made it more real, and easier for me to grasp and understand. You see, I love the characters in your other stories, yet I only admired their love, and never FELT so much for a character. For many times, in my dreams, I became one of the three boys, so that I was able to love Dad back. Dreams sometimes are so wonderful because they gave you so much freedom for your mind.

With all my love and big hug,
Matt

1 My dear Andrej,

"His Foot in too many Shoes" is a quite fascinating story, I cannot wait to read the later parts to find out the true love of "Dad." I must say that the story intrigues me more and more. "Dad" fell in love with Orlando, how beautiful, but what will happen then? No, don't tell me, I want to read it. I felt strongly for Dad, and a lot things that he said and felt really touched me. Maybe it is because I am married and trying to live the "straight" life now as "Dad" did. And since you have been married before, I have a feeling that you had very similar experiences as "Dad" did as well.

I finished reading "Epistolary" as well, and it just took my breath away. It moved me to tears and then it also awakened me and liberated me. You are such a masterful writer, your characters are so vivid and so real, and yet their backgrounds are so diverse. I also liked your writing style, so good and beautiful. Yet each one of your stories is told in a unique way, none of them is quite the same. How did you do it, dear Andrej? I have downloaded all your stories and plan to read them all. Your work is a real treasure, no doubt about it.

I can tell without a doubt that you are man of humanity. Your life experiences and your wisdom enlightened me and I admire you more as I read more of your stories.

Yours,
Matt

P.S. Could you tell me what does "Nunc dimittis" mean in English? As you can tell, I was reading it (until now), and I am mesmerized.
