Finisterre (End of Land) is in Bretagne, France. See the baguettes and the lady on the right in a typical Breton traditional constume (with lace coife). I think that Werner Fassbinder saw this painting before creating his film Querelle de Brest: same athmosphere, and it might be Brest that Cadmus refers to here. (Note kindly sent by Aart) |
