Gonzalo was born and raised in Mexico City. In 1986 he moved to New York City. Since 1987 Gonzalo has produced radio in WBAI 99.5 FM on the culture and politics of the Latin and Latin American communities.
Openly gay, he is currently the executive producer of "La Nueva Alternativa" a Spanish-language rock program and the only one broadcast on that genre in the tri-state area. He is co-founder of HoMoVISIONES an organization focused on producing a television program for the Latino lesbian and gay community. He was also co-founder and Director of POZ en Español a magazine on HIV / AIDS in the Latin community of the United States.
Gonzalo has published numerous articles in publications of the country and of Mexico, such as the book "Crazy Loves and the dangers of contagion" (7 Stories press) and also directed the short film "œ" At the Museo del Barrio in June 2005 and has performed at various festivals. His play in an act "Tiembla" was finalist in the competition of new writers Asunción that organizes the Pregones Theater.
He is currently a journalist for El Diario La Prensa, where he serves as Editor of Supplements and the weekly magazine on Life Style EL DIARIO / Contigo; for more than a decade he writes the weekly column "Alterlatino" on alternative music and rock in Spanish.
Gonzalo hopes to be able to continue to carry out projects among which are documentaries, photography books, poetry, a compilation of his writings in New York and a novel.
