Peter Allen
(February 10, 1944 - June 18, 1992) Australia

Singer and entertainer
Singer, songwriter, pianist, born Peter Woolnough in Tenterfield, New South Wales, and growing up in Armidale, an Australian country town, he and his friend Chris Bell formed "The Allen Brothers" and became highly successful singers on TV.
He was married to Judy Garland's daughter Liza Minelli (1967-70), soon thereafter resuming having sex with men. Minelli later said in an interview with "The Advocate" that everyone knew Allen was gay except her. And about how she found out she said: "Let me put it this way: I'll never surprise anybody coming home again as long as I live".
Allen also wrote hitsongs for others, like I Honestly Love You for Olivia Newton John, Arthur's Theme (with Christopher Cross) and Don't Cry Out Loud for Melissa Manchester.
When his partner since 1973, Gregory Connell, was diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, Allen worked even more tirelessly until his own death from the disease related illness.
