Writer, director, and producer

Born in Westchester, New York, for the past few years, Greg Berlanti has been a creative force at the WB thanks to his gig as a writer and executive producer of the TV series for Dawson's Creek (1998). When the Frog gave him the green light to create a new family drama, Greg knew exactly what he wanted to do - make a show that was real, emotional and personal. Like the show's star Ephram, Greg grew up in a quirky, little town.

Greg is also the screenwriter and film director, The Broken Hearts Club (2000); TV writer of Young Americans (2000); and the writer, director, and producer of the WB TV series Everwood (2002).

Greg Berlanti"I remember the first time I ever saw a gay character on the screen that I wanted to be ... and it was Rupert Everett in My Best Friend's Wedding," Berlanti says. "That's why he was such a phenomenon the summer it came out, because straight guys couldn't believe they were going to see a movie with a gay character in it that they wanted to be as smart as, as good-looking as or as charming as."
