Ektoras Binikos was born in Greece in the island of Ikaria and was educated in Athens. He received his degree in Film Direction from the Greek National Film Institute.

After moving to New York, he furthered his studies at the New School University in Graphic Design/ Electronic Publishing as well as Video Production, and at Cooper Union in drawing & collages. Has exhibited his multi-media work in numerous group shows throughout the United States. His work incorporates disparate elements, from high art, to cinema, to comics, to politics, etc.

Binikos' work has been published in the 2007 annual issue of Artworld Digest magazine. He participated in Performa 07, the biannual event that takes place in NYC in November, with "Life Exchange" a project run by Wooloo productions, a Berlin-based art colective. Binikos is living in NYC.
