Ferruccio Dante Michelangelo Benvenuto Busoni

Pianist, composer and music critic
Born in Empoli, near Florence, he made his first public appearance at the age of seven in Vienna.
Already famous in 1889, he was teaching piano at the Conservatoire of Helsinki.
In 1890 in the Conservatoire of Moscow, and in 1891-93 he was at the Conservatoire of Boston, USA.
Later he lived in Berlin, Bologna, and Zürich.
Much of his music was for the piano, but he also composed several operas including Doktor Faust, completed by a pupil after his death.
As a critic he was also influential.
He died in Berlin.
