Medical Director of Mental Health Services for San Mateo County, California; associate professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco; co-editor and contributor to the Textbook of Homosexuality and Mental Health (1996); past president of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, and chairperson of the Committee on Gay, Lesbian, and Bisexual Issues of the American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Cabaj has been instrumental in dispelling numerous myths and inaccuracies about homosexuality as a mental illness, and including homosexuality as a subject worthy of study in training programs for the helping professions.
