Madeline DavisMadeline was elected the first openly lesbian delegate to a national political convention, the Democratic Convention that nominated McGovern in 1972.

In 1995 Madeline was the "poster girl" for an arts/theatre center tattoo show. The photo was chosen best color poster of the year by the Commercial Printers & Publishers Association. She is primarily a scholar, and co-authored Boots of Leather, Slippers of Gold.
