Ellen Degeneres
(January 26, 1958 - living) U.S.A.

Comedian, actress and comic
Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, and educated there and in Texas, Ellen started her career at a local comedy club in New Orleans. She played the leading part of Ellen Morgan in the series Ellen.
When she came out in 1997 as a lesbian both in the series as well in real life the popularity of the series diminished. Chrysler withdrew its commercials! But the "Puppy episode" in which Ellen had her coming-out received an Emmy-award.
Ellen had a relationship with the actress Anne Heche from 1997 to 2000. In 1999, Ellen intended to marry Anne Heche if Vermont's plans to legalize gay marriages go through, but they split after being together for 3 1/2 years, in August 2000.
