Dmitri the Pretender, also known as False Dmitry, perhaps one Griska Otrep'ev, said to be the youngest brother of the late Czar Fyodor I, therefore his rightful heir. With the help of boyars (the aristocrats) who were against the czar Boris Gudunov, not of noble origins, he fought and won against him, and in 1605 ascended the throne. But Dmitri suspect "latinism" and his despise for Russian traditions, stirred up a conspiracy of the boyars against him and Dmitri was killed while sleeping.
Dmitri's lover was the Prince Ivan Khvorostinin .
