Terry Dolan, American head of the National Conservative Political Action Committee, "family values" advocate, known for his pioneering use of direct mail to raise funds for right-wing politicians.

A closeted homosexual who died of AIDS, he lobbied strongly against gay rights, lying repeated about his sexual orientation and his health problems; When the Washington Post outed him after his death in 1986, his brother, Reagan speechwriter Anthony Dolan, took out a 2-page newspaper ad to angrily denounce the Post.
