Gregory Doran

Associate director of the Royal Shakespeare Company
Born in Preston, Doran ran a Shakespeare company while at the Bristol Old Vic.
His first professional work was at Nottingham Playhouse - he was an actor, then an assistant director. In 1987 Doran joined the RSC, first as an actor, then as an assistant director.
His greatest achievement was Macbeth with Antony Sher and Harriet Walter - it went round the world and it was filmed for U.K. Channel 4.
