Qwo-Li Driskill is a Cherokee queer writer, scholar, educator, activist, and performer also of African, Irish, Lenape, Lumbee, and Osage ascent and the author of Walking with Ghosts: Poems. Hir artistic and scholarly work appears in numerous publications, and s/he performs and facilitates workshops at events across Turtle Island.

Qwo-Li grew up in rural Colorado and attended the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley before moving to Seattle in 1998 to attend Antioch University Seattle. In 2004 Qwo-Li moved from Seattle to Michigan, where s/he earned a PhD in Rhetoric & Writing at Michigan State University in 2008. S/he is currently an assistant professor in the Department of English at Texas A&M University.

S/he currently lives in Three Fires (Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi) and Huron territories. S/he is the author of the chapbooks Book of Memory: Honor Poems and Burning Upward Flight. Hir first full volume of poetry is forthcoming.

Qwo-Li Driskill is the author of Walking with Ghosts: Poems (Salt Publishing). Hir work appears in numerous publications and s/he performs and facilitates Theatre of the Oppressed workshops throughout Turtle Island. S/he is currently writing a dissertation on Cherokee performance rhetorics, and in August 2008 will begin an assistant professorship in the Department of English at Texas A&M University. In hir spare time Qwo-Li weaves baskets, wampum, and fingerwoven sashes.
