Sgt.Sylvia Durand is the first member of any Armed Forces in the World, to have her surgery approved, and paid for by the Government, and the Military. For a time, she lived under a cloud of controversy, but she remained steadfast to her ideals, and had her surgery which was performed by Dr. Y. Menard August 1999, in Montreal.
