George Eighmey (pronounced Amy) graduated from the University of Illinois Schools of Administration (1969) and Law (1972). He practiced law in Illinois and Oregon until 1998. He served as an Oregon State Representative from the Portland area from 1993-1999.
He presently serves as the Executive Director of "Compassion in Dying" of Oregon, an organization dedicated to providing non-judgmental information on end-of-life options. He is a member of the Illinois and Oregon State Bar Association. He is licensed to practice before the Ninth and Seventh U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals, the Oregon Supreme Court, the U.S. Tax Court, the Illinois Supreme Court and the U.S. Federal Appeals Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
He is an advisory board member of the Bosco-Milligan Historic Preservation Foundation, co-chair of "Everyone is a Speaker", a speakers training program, co-chair of the Oregon Gay and Lesbian Law Association and active in his neighborhood association.
