(1955 living) U.S.A.
Andre retired in 2004 from active competition for a number of reasons. He basically feels getting too old to crash as he had before. With a list of 14 broken bones and a pair of shoulders that don't really work as originally intended, he thinks it just makes sense to back away from the asphalt a bit.
He was teaching WERA New Racer Schools for some time. He enjoyed this thoroughly and would have gladly done it again in 2003, however he was offered a position as Race Director for WERA's SouthCentral Region. Thus, he'll be the top onsite official at WERA races held in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
Andre lives in the Dallas, Texas, area and road-raced motorcycles with Championship Cup Series and WERA motorcycle roadracing. He is a three-time regional racing champ. He no longer participates in roadracing at any level. Nor does he officiate. Occasionally he is asked to instruct at local race schools.
