Francesco Filelfo
(1398 - 1481) Italy

Humanist
Born at Tolentino, he went to Constantinople from 1420 to 1427, learning perfectly Geek language. He then moved to florence where he was a teacher, but he was banned, as he opposed the Medicis. Filelfo taught Greek and Eloquence in several Italian cities (Siena, Bologna, Pavia, Milan, Rome) where he was deeply appreciated.
Lorenzo the Magnificent repealed the ban, and called him again to teach in Florence, but he had just reached the city when suddenly died.
