Ronald Gold
(? - living) U.S.A.
Gay activist
Ronald had been sent by his family to a series of psychiatrists from age 13 on to "cure" his homosexuality.
An early member of the Gay Activists Alliance and the National Gay Task Force in New York, he became a leader in the fight to overturn the American Psychiatric Association's policy that homosexuality was a sickness. He is a former Variety reporter.
As a longtime PFLAG member, Ron Gold has written to the PFLAG National office repeatedly for many years now, asking them to stop promoting the line that people "can't help" being gay.
