(1848 - 1913) Russia
Poet
Mussorgsky found a companion in Count Arseny Golenishchev Kutuzov, a distant relative. This impoverished 25-year-old poet inspired Mussorgsky's two cycles of melancholy melodies, Bez solntsa (Sunless) and Pesni i plyaski smerti (Songs and Dances of Death) and became his librettist.
