Gillian Hanscombe

Academic and writer
Born and brought up in Melbourn, she is a long-term partner of the writer Suniti Namjoshi. Hanscombe read English and History of Music at the University of Melbourne and at Monash University. In 1969 she moved to Britain where she completed a DPhil on the modernist writer Dorothy Richardson at the University of Oxford. Together with her lover Suniti she wrote several lesbian essays. They now lives in Devon, UK.
