Henry Prince of Prussia
(January 18, 1726 - August 3, 1802) Germany

General
Friedrich Heinrich Ludwig, commonly known as Prince Henry of Prussia, was the younger brother of king Frederick II of Prussia. His conflicts with his famous brother are almost legendary.
Heinrich successfully led Prussian armies during the Seven Years' War, and spent much of his time in Rheinsberg. On 25 June 1752 he married Landgravine Wilhelmine of Hesse-Kassel in Charlottenburg, but they had no children.
He made no secret of his love for youthful men, including the 17-year-old Count of Roche-Aymon and Major Kaphengst. He also had love affairs with the actor Blainville and Count La Roche-Aymon.
In 1786, many Americans were unhappy with their ineffective young Federal government, a group of important politicians, thus consideration was being given to substituting the fledgling democracy with a constitutional monarchy. Alexander Hamilton, gay Baron von Steuben, and James Monroe, among others, suggested Henry as a candidate for the United States' first king. Henry, otherwise occupied with his young lovers, refused the offer.
