Canada Businessman Member of the largest dry goods, grocery, and wholesale liquor firm in Regina, Saskatchewan; charged for homosexual activity with two other men in 1895, he was fined $200 rather than jailed or hanged, because 51 people in the community had signed a petition pleading for leniency in his sentencing; he left the firm and disappeared from Regina.
