Jeffrey H. Jordan-Pickett is the son of the late Hernon and Annie Jordan. The youngest of seven siblings, he was born in Kimball, West Virginia. He graduated from Mount View High School and Bluefield State College. At the age of 20, he began his ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Third Episcopal District. Bishop Richard Allen Hilderbrand ordained him at the age of 25. Rev. Jordan-Pickett served as pastor of Mt. Zion AMEC in Eckman, WV and St. Paul AMEC in Madison, WV. He also served as associate pastor of Bethel AMEC in Bluefield, WV.

Inheriting a church in distress, Rev. Jordan-Pickett was installed as Pastor of Metropolitan Community Church of Philadelphia on October 8, 1994. Since beginning his pastorate, Rev. Jordan-Pickett has moved the congregation from the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia to the William Way Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Community Center. Since its move, the church has grown in both size and spirit. Rev. Jordan-Pickett has lead MCCP in adopting a charismatic, Christ Centered style of worship which attracts a diverse group of worshipers.

Rev. Jordan-Pickett resides in Philadelphia with his partner, David Jordan-Pickett. Together they have three Godchildren: Lindsey, Christopher and Nayshauna.

Besides his work with the local congregation, for six years Rev. Jordan-Pickett served as the Mid-Atlantic Youth Director. He is also the founding president of The College Settlement camp of Philadelphia Alumni Association.

Jeffrey JordanRev. Jordan-Pickett thanks God for his ministry and place at MCCP. He looks forward to serving the church as pastor for many more years and is excited about the future of Metropolitan Community Church of Philadelphia.

It is the Rev. Jeffrey Jordan's opinion that LBGTs, as a whole, have become complacent about the issues that still plague our community, acting as if the war is over. He says that he believes we've only fought the little skirmishes and that the real battles have only just begun.

Acknowledging that there are many organizations and activists out there, Rev. Jordan says he plans to put Metropolitan Community Church of Philadelphia at the forefront, rallying the troops and leading the charge.

There are still people hurting, teenage suicide, people dying alone and people hungry for both spiritual and physical food. There are issues still needing attentions in the LBGT community, and Metropolitan Community Church of Philadelphia plans to be a major part of the solution revolution.
