(1968 - living) Russia

Poet
In Moscow, literary life is rich and well-structured, half a dozen poetic salons function on a weekly basis. There are able publishers like Dmitry Kuzmin (a poet himself and organizer of different poetry festivals, as the 1998 Moscow and St. Petersburg's poetry festival "Genius Loci: Russian poetry now"), who encourages experimental and innovative poetry and publishes young authors.
One of the magazines he was publishing and editing was the first Russian edition of gay writing (titled Risk, the first issue in 1995). In 2002 Dmitri was awarded with Andrey Bely prize, the oldest Russian independent literary award, "for services to Russian literature" (i.e. for publishing, editing, compiling anthologies etc.).
