(1960 - living) Germany
Born in the Westphalian city of Soest, König was raining to become a carpenter when, in 1979, he attended a gay pride rally and dance in Frankfurt. That weekend opened his eyes and put him in the arms and beds of several men. Soon after König left carpentry and heterosexuality behind.
He studied at the Academy of Art in Düsseldorf from 1981 to 1985. Both prior to and during his training, König was already publishing individual comic strips and comic stories in gay publications and with small publishing houses.
Within a reasonably short time, König has become both a widely respected cartoonist and one of the best-selling authors in germany. His almost two dozens volumes have been videly translated and also adapted for the stage and the screen.
