(June 15, 1963 - living) U.S.A.
Emmett was born in North Haven, Connecticut. He first gained national exposure in 2006 on the second season of Bravo's hit show, Project Runway after beating out thousands of hopefuls for a chance to participate in the design competition. Drawing on over twenty years of experience in the fashion industry, he showed that he was a stylish and talented designer and ended his participation perfectly poised to launch the next phase of his career.
Immediately following his stint on Project Runway, he launched EMc2 and opened his flagship boutique on Elizabeth Street in Manhattan's chic Nolita district. The EMc2 store established itself quickly as destination shopping for New York's fashion cognoscenti and celebrities from Debra Messing to Heidi Klum. The store is the center of his creative philosophy:
"My brand is based on who I am. I live and work on the same street I've lived on for 27 years. By starting with a retail outlet, I get first-person experience with my customers. Women - especially American women - have so many choices that shopping for clothes presents a challenge. It's hard work to look beautiful, appropriate, and fashionable. I want my customers to trust our brand to provide solutions that make it look easy."
Each season the EMc2 collections are the result of a philosophy centered on quality enhancement where research, innovation and attention to the most minute of details ensure that only the most well thought out products are presented. All aspects of the brand are managed in-house, which gives him total creative control. Product distribution is selective and the collection is currently available only at the EMc2 boutique and online.
This year sees the launch of the designer's first-ever shoe line. Created for this season, the capsule collection initially feature five different styles. Embodying the look of the chic Manhattan woman who loves to dress, loves to shop and feels confident in her own skin, EMc2 is the height of stylish, understated, confident sophistication.
