Tim McFeeley was born in Johnstown, New York. He received his bachelor's degree from Princeton University and his law degree from Harvard Law School.
For 15 years McFeeley served as Corporation Counsel for National Medical Care, and during that time became familiar with the changes in delivering health care services and products in the United States. For over five years thereafter, he was the executive director of the Human Rights Campaign in Washington, D.C. during a half decade of significant growth and influence. He has provided strategic and fund-raising advice to a variety of non-profit organizations and is currently the CEO of the Center for Policy Alternatives in Washington, D.C.
Gay activist in Boston in the late 1970's and 1980's, in July 2008 McFeeley joined the board of the Gay & Lesbian Leadership Institute (GLLI). He resides in Washington, D.C. and Provincetown, Massachusetts with his partner, Robert J. Mondzak.
