Carmen de Monteflores

Carmen was born in Puerto Rico, educated in girls' schools and studied at Wellesley College, where she received her B.A. in Art History. She studied painting in New York City and sculpture in Paris. Carmen obtained a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and is currently a psychotherapist in San Francisco and Berkeley, specializing in issues pertaining to women, Latinos, and lesbian and gay individuals and couples.
Carmen is the author of two novels, Cantando Bajito (Singing Softly) and Possessions as well as a play, Bloodlines, recently produced in San Francisco. Carmen has also published poetry, essays, and professional articles on gay and Latino identity, and on multicultural issues.
