Jon was born in Wandsworth, South London. His education was at Highgate School and he showed a tendency towards being good at sport. Next on his list of jobs came one as a tape operator at Marquee Studios. But this didn't last too long. He'd already begun to learn to play the drums, and despite a respectable clutch of academic qualifications, began to think in terms of a musical career.

His day jobs continued with an excursion into the world of a cake salesman. From this he moved to become an apprentice printer with just about as much luck as in the cake business and then on to van driver and eventually landing a job as an assistant at a music agency.

Jon MossJon also performed with The Edge before coming into contact with Adam and The Ants. Meanwhile, Boy George, who had been looking around for a drummer for his group, Sex Gang Children was advised by a friend to give Jon a call. And that's how he came to be a member of one of the most successful bands of the 1980s. Almost immediately, Jon and George fell in love, even though Jon had never dated a man before.

It was a wise move on everyone's part, because Jon was instrumental in offering a lot of ideas to Boy George, including the changing of the group's name and the general direction that the music should take.

Jon has also become a pin up in his own right with the fans and whilst Boy George might command the adulation, Jon's picture is probably on just as many bedroom walls! He and Boy George had a stormy 6-year relationship, which is documented in Take It Like A Man: The Autobiography of Boy George.

Jon MossThe relationship between George and Jon Moss was, for the most part, a secret to the general public, although there were some choice shots of the two kissing, and some fans and interviewers inferred the truth.

Jon Moss and Boy George ended, amiably, their relationship; later Jon married and became the father of two children, and now is a music producer. Jon has joined the band "Dirth" in August 2005. The first concert with Jon was held at the Bull & Gate, Kentish Town, London NW5 on Friday September 30th, 2005.
