Comedian Howie Nave is the host and emcee of The Improv comedy club inside Harveys casino in Lake Tahoe. He also handles the GM/PR duties. Howie was hand picked to run the room by Improv founder Budd Friedman in 1998 when The Improv first opened inside The Reno Hilton.

The Improv relocated to Lake Tahoe in January of 2001. In addition to being a part of the Improv family Howie is also the host of his own radio show, "Howie's Friday Funnies" on KRLT radio. Howie is Tahoe's resident film critic with weekly movie reviews in The Lake Tahoe Daily Tribune.

Before that Howie was a road touring comic best known for his parody songs and regular stints on the nationally syndicated "Dr. Demento" radio program. Some of his original compositions include Your Father Was Once my Mother, I was Born the Wrong Religion all Because of Circumcision, I Want a Part Time Girl for Christmas, It's Hard to be a Jewish Cowboy When You Want to Date a Country Girl and Post Academia Blues, which was written after he graduated from Humboldt State University.

Howie is also a big Sci-fi fan having hosted numerous Star Trek conventions in addition to the annual Roswell, New Mexico Alien Encounter Extravaganza.

Hosting seven shows a week combining stand-up comedy and original songs has made Nave a popular fixture in northern Nevada/California. In addition to his two albums out already, Nave is currently working on his first 'live' CD taken from his 'live' performances both here in Lake Tahoe and from his shows at The Improv at Harrah's Las Vegas and as an opening act for some of the artists listed earlier.
