Former vice-president of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (1993-1999) and former Director of Communications for the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada (1991-1993). He was the PC party candidate in the 2000 federal election.
Pearce successfully fought for amendments to the Canadian Human Rights Act and the inclusion of sexual orientation under Canada's hate crimes law, so that it increased penalties if the crime was allegedly to be motivated by "hate" against homosexuals. Pearce is now set to run for the federal Tories in the next election.
