Jack Stuart Plotnick was born in Columbus, Ohio. He attended Worthington High School, Worthington, Ohio and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 1991. He has two older brothers: David and Larry and an older sister: Elizabeth.

fHis big break in acting was when he was the understudy or all the cast of "Pageant" (the show about beauty pageants where all the contestants were played by men). It was his first foray into drag and one of the results of this was the creation of his drag persona "Evie Harris".

Jack has appeared in numerous movies and television programmes. He had a returning role in "Ellen" as Barret and in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" he played the part of Deputy Mayor Allan Finch. In movies he has appeared in such films as "Gods and Monsters", "Cook-Off!" and "Adam and Steve". He won the Best Actress Award at the U.S. Comedy Arts Festival for his role in "Girls Will Be Girls".
