Ken Plummer
(1946 - living) U.K.
Sociologist, historian, and academic
Plummer studied at Enfield college and at the London School of Economics and Political Science. From 1968 to 1974 he lectured at Middlesex Polytechnic. He moved to a lecturing post at Essex University in 1975 and became a Reader in Sociology. He has been a frequent visiting Professor at the University of California at Santa Barbara.
He was an original member of the London Gay Liberation Front (GLF). He has been the editor of the journal Sexualities since its launch in 1998.
