Koos (Jakobus Petrus) Prinsloo

Born in Kenya, Prinsloo migrated to South Africa in 1962. He studied Afrikaans at the University of Pretoria. He has published short stories and novels, including Jonkmanskas (1982), Die hemel help ons (1988), and Stagplaas (1993). His short story "Border Story" was included in Invisible Ghetto (1993), South Africa's first anthology of gay and lesbian writing, and a memoir of childhood, "Promise You'll Tell No-one", in Defiant Desire (1994). Prinsloo died of AIDS-related disease.
