Jacco van Renesse, pseudonym of Jacobus Haringman, was born in Noordwelle, Holland.

Jacco went to the drama school in 1957, where he had only studied for a few months when he made his professional debut with the New Dutch Theater Company. He took singing lessons with Coby Riemersma, was seen at various theater companies and in the sixties he was part of the ensemble of Wim Kan and Corry Vonk, where he made a name as a duo with Jenny Arean, with whom he also performed in various NCRV recorded musicals for television. At the end of the sixties he performed the role of Rogier in the popular youth series Floris.

For most of his career he was associated with the Capital Operette, where he spent many years on the buffo roles. In addition, he presented the "Jacco's choice" program with music from opera, operetta and musical for the AVRO radio for quite some time. In 1995 he played the role of Zsa Zsa in the musical La Cage Aux Folles. In 1998 he retired from the scene. He died in Enkhuizen, Holland, aged 70.
