Lee Rose, and open lesbian, started as a member of both The Ensemble Studio Theater and The Los Angeles Actors Theater before moving to the screen. She then went into production and started to write, selling her first spec screenplay to Island Pictures. She then went on to produce many of the movies she wrote, before moving into directing.
