Sandy Sachs and Robin Gans, both originally from New York City, moved to Los Angeles, (Gans in 1988, and Sachs in 1989) where they embarked on a vision that continues to grow. Their National publicity as "OUT" Lesbians and lovers of over 13 years has enabled them to speak out on Lesbian and Gay rights.

Gans also holds a Doctorate of Psychology and has a practice in Beverly Hills while Sachs is the owner of L.A.'s state of the art nightclub, The Factory where Girl Bar is every Friday night. Sachs is also a nightclub consultant and is the buyer for the Hit Parade, a gay and lesbian retail store on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, La.

Sandy stresses that Girl Bar is not a bar - it is "a bonafide nightclub." Girl Bar has a very central West Hollywood location. Girl Bar is situated in The Factory, the main location for all the events that Sachs and co owner/partner Robin Gans organize. Built in 1929, The Factory has been utilized for varying functions ranging from a camera company, a WWII bomb factory, and a movie studio before making the transition to a nightclub.
