Scott Silverman
(1969 - living) U.S.A.
Stand-up Comedian
Scott was studying journalism (he had wanted to write about cars) when he went to Josie's Cabaret and Juice Joint and decided then that what he wanted to do was stand-up INSREAD. He has appeared at numerous clubs throughout the U.S., though he says that he has appeared in more mainstream ones than gay.
He was featured on "Out There 2" - Comedy Central's annual gay television show - which was marred by the fact his car was vandalised beforehand because it displayed a rainbow flag. And once, Scott had to have a police escort from a club where one of the patrons had tried to attack him because he was gay.
His parents - especially his mother - are gay rights activists, campaigning on many issues. Scott says that one of his ex-boyfriends said that his Mom was his best feature. His step father is the president of the Los Angeles chapter of Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.
