Marcia is a Performance Consultant within AT&T IP Services, providing consulting, training assessment and measurement services that ensure continuous individual and organizational performance improvement in support of the company's business needs and customer satisfaction goals.

Marcia has been involved with LEAGUE, AT&T's GLBT employee group, since 1992 and is Co-President of the group. She was involved at the local level as a membership representative, and in 1994 became Co-Chair for the New Jersey chapter.

In 1997 she began serving at the national level by co-chairing the LEAGUE National Professional Development Conference in New Jersey, and in 1998 was Co-EVP of Membership. She has led many diversity events in and out of AT&T.

Marcia has been a keynote speaker and panelist at various events and discussions on LGBT issues and has represented LEAGUE and AT&T in numerous community service functions, gay pride events and business expositions.

As the nation's first and largest Gay Employee Business Resource Group, LEAGUE at AT&T has served as a successful model for many other major lesbian and gay employee business resource groups in corporate America.

In April 2000 Marcia welcomed AT&T CEO C. Michael Armstrong, to LEAGUE's annual Professional Development conference. Since then, she has continued to work on behalf of LEAGUE and its membership in continued meetings with the senior leadership of AT&T, further fostering a relationship where LEAGUE is viewed as a valued business partner of AT&T.

Marcia Sommers is one of the 2001 gfn.com 25, a listing by the Gay Financial Network of the 25 most influential out gay and lesbian executives in corporate America.
