Film director
Born in Chicago, Illinois, Rose grew up in the Midwest suburbs, part of a large Puerto Rican family. After making short films and videos, she made her feature film debut with the groundbreaking lesbian love story Go Fish, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival in 1994. Go Fish was co-produced and co-written with actress Guinevere Turner.
Since then, Rose has made the feature Bedrooms and Hallways, about male sexuality; directed The Safety of Objects, a film adapted from the short stories of A.M. Holmes about heterosexual love in suburbia; has an original script in development, Lucinda's Changed, about "woman as monsteress". In 2004 she filmed The L Word.
