Claire Waldoff (October 21, 1884 - January 22, 1957) Germany Singer Born in Gelsenkirchen, Westphalia, Claire was a lesbian cabaret star who survived the Nazi era, managed relationships, and explored the lesbian subculture in the pre-Nazi period; she then faced difficulties and outright persecution in Nazi period. She died in Bad Reichenhall, Bavaria, of a stroke.
