Saskia E. Wieringa

Antropologist
Wieringa's major work has been on the communist women's movement in Indonesia. She coordinated several research projects on women's movements and organizations and is a founder of the Women and Development program of the Institute of Social Studies in the Hague.
She has published widely on issues of women's empowerment, public policy, and sexuality and has written a travelogue on lesbian relations in several Third World countries, entitled Dora D.
