Actor, singer and musical star, Daan worked from 1991 till the end of 1993 with the International Theater Festival. Since 1992 he dances at the Djazzex Modern Jazz Dance Company, with this company he performed all over the world. In 1993 he finished his study at the Amsterdam University of Arts in which he specialised in Jazztheater and Showmusicaldance. During this study he was taught singing lessons by Ad van Dijk.

With Djazzex he works together with the choreographers Glenn van der Hoff and Neel Verdoorn, and also with Anthony Rizzi (Frankfurt Ballet) and Patrick Delcroix (Dutch Dance Theater). In 1995 Daan performed in a special dance program in co-operation with the Willem Breuker Collectief. In 2000 he won the Dutch John Kraaykamp Musical Award for best newcomer.
