MR. WARDE Prosecuted; Mr. Fulton Defended.

On tlie evidence of Dr. James Scott, the medical officer at Brixton Prison, the jury found that the prisoner was insane and unfit to plead to the indict-vient. To be detained during His Majesty's pleasure.

[Verdict: Unfit to plead - Punishment: Imprisonment - insanity]

ROBERTS, William Hunter (32, sailor), and KJERNEN, Sam (23, sailor), unlawfully attempting to commit an act of gross indecency with each other. Roberts inciting Kjernen to commit buggery.

Mr. J. F. Vesey FitzGerald prosecuted.

[Verdict: Not Guilty]

DUTTNALL, Frank (18, newsvendor), and CHANNELL. Charles (15, newsvendor), buggery with George Muir.

Verdict, Guilty.

Mr. Justice Bigham said that, if he could, he would order both prisoners to, be thrashed, but the law did not allow it. To send them to prison would do them no good, nor anyone else. They would be released in their own recognisances in £5, to come up for sentence if called upon.

Walter Hawkins, Joseph Bell

HAWKINS, Walter (17, printer's labourer), and BELL Joseph (17, cropper boy) pleaded guilty, to buggery with each other.

Sentence, Hawkins, 18 months' hard labour; Bell, 12 months' hard labour.

[Verdict: Both pleaded guilty - Punishment: hard labour]
