Christopher Joseph Sanfeliz
1992 - June 12, 2016
Christopher, born in Havana, Cuba, had graduated from Gaither High School in Tampa, where he was active in the marching band. He then studied at Hillsborough Community College
His friends remembered him for his love of salsa dancing, his kindness, and his dedication to family and friends.
Christopher lived in Tampa and was a bank employee at JPMorgan Chase and in the past worked at Youfit Health Clubs and Abercrombie & Fitch. "He was a wonderful person and this is such a tragedy," said a friend of the family, Mike Wallace. "He was cut down in his prime."
Christopher died from injuries he sustained in the Pulse nightclub shooting, his brother.
"He was so strong, and was my rock through everything we ever went through," Junior Sanfeliz, his older brother, wrote on Facebook. "He was the light of my family and I know that he will continue to bless us and his light will be radiating down from a better place."
Judging from his Facebook profile, it was evident that Christopher was close with his family. In one picture, he sat with his brother, Junior, who slung his arm protectively around his younger brother. In another image, the two posed with their mother - "I Love Mom" was the caption.
"Everyone knows the bond that I had with my brother," Junior wrote on Facebook on Monday. "We would finish each other's sentences, knew each other's thoughts, and could sense when the other was upset."
Christopher, who enjoyed working out, lived in the Tampa area. Ben Mercado, a friend and an ex-boyfriend of Christopher's, wrote in a lengthy post on Facebook that Mr. Sanfeliz had loved to dance. "I remember you teaching me the basics of Latin dancing," Mr. Mercado wrote, "and being the first guy I ever danced bachata with. (Best experience ever.)"
His brother, Junior Sanfeliz, wrote a tribute to him on Facebook, saying, "My heart is completely broken. ... Everyone knows the bond that I had with my brother, we would finish each other's sentences, knew each other's thoughts, and could sense when the other was upset. He was so strong, and was my rock through everything we ever went through. He was the light of my family and I know that he will continue to bless us and his light will be radiating down from a better place."
